I’m getting into cross stitch and embroidery thanks to my new book courtesy of the lovely folk at making magazine. This book if packed full of ideas and gorgeous modern looking stitching designs and themes.
I have been spending too much time flitting through the book enjoying the pictures and drawing inspirations so now time to get out the threads and start giving it a go.
This coming weekend I’m off to a fancy dress party so earlier this week I found myself frantically digging though the childhood dressing up box looking for inspiration, it didn’t help too much but ended up being a fantastic hour of reminiscing.
The outfits that made me smile the most were the real leather cowboy waistcoats with tassels and matching gun holsters made by my mum and dad. The outfits were beautifully made and still looking amazing over 30 years later and surviving 4 kids.
The nostalgia inspired me to try and make dress up outfits for my nieces and nephews. Stage one, tutu’s for the girls. Fingers crossed they will be a hit!
I think one of my favourite things about spring is not just the colourful flowers starting to pop up and the feeling of sunshine on my face but getting the scooter out of hibernation.
It’s not fancy or fast but it is a lot of fun to ride and certainly gets the adrenalin pumping.
I’m working my way upto a fancy scoot like the LML Star like in the picture but for now 30mph limit will have to do.

One of my favourite days coming up, pancake day! Nom
But this year I am determined not to have my usual after eating remembering how delicious, easy and quick to cook pancakes are and resolve to have them more often.
I say this every year and never do. This year I am resolved to the fact I probably won’t eat another pancake for another year!
